WE TIED THE KNOT

This bride and groom just tied the knot with the most astonishing themed wedding. I believe it’s true that their love truly is unbreakable. The details, the surprise reveals and the obvious love between them brought us so much joy and we were actually sad when it was over. Felisa & Greg were amazing, fun loving and just felt good to be around them. We love creating relationships like these with our Brides & Grooms.
The wedding took place at La Canada Thursday Club which was the perfect venue if your looking for a Spanish theme with outside and inside area. The ceremony was heartfelt with their closest friends and family with tears and laughter which kept things stirring. The afternoon was filled with passed appetizers with an open drink stand with professional dressed servers and lots of laughs. An amazing Gluten Free and Vegetarian Buffet was a great way to serve all the guests with special diets and prepared by yours truly.

We also made the Wedding Cake and Cupcakes - all gluten free!

Check out what we served…

Passed Appetizers of Gluten Free Fresh Fruit Bruschetta & Organic Vegetable Shot Glasses with Homemade Ranch Dressing

Gluten Free and Vegetarian Buffet:

Domestic and European Cheese and Fruit Display with olives, artichokes, kosher pickles, grapes, fresh fruits, chocolates, dried fruits, nuts, crackers both kosher and gluten free

JON AND KELSY, HIDDEN OAKS Rancho Cucamonga

Missing out on the heat of the summer we had a fabulous wedding at Hidden Oaks located in Ramona, California. The venue has scenic landscape perfect for Jon and Kelsy's wedding day. The couples were smiling all day and I'm sure the two cheeks hurt at the end of the day.

The guests gathered at the location for the ceremony as the catering service and vendors round up and await for the party to start. Sunny and the perfect breeze with the rustic style accents and delicious food and sweets makes this a dream come true wedding!

The guest gather and sign best wishes and names to the hand made wedding board.

Large mason jars served fresh cucumber water and cranberry juice before the new wedding couple arrive.

The sweetest table set aside in the shade for the bride and groom surrounded oak tree's and greenery everywhere.

Russian Doll Bakery and Catering served it up with Chicken with a white wine mushroom sauce, organic carrots, green beans and roasted mashed potatoes.

Always room for dessert Russian Doll served up 746 dessert for this wedding. Who needs cake?

What a great day, thank you to Larisa Photography, Hidden Oaks and all the vendors who worked as a team to make this day wonderful for Jon and Kelsy. We wish them the best life has to offer and full of laughs and cuddling.

THE RUSSIAN DOLL ORIGIN

I have been receiving multiple questions about how I came up with the Russian Doll logo and name, so I thought it was time that I shared the story with everyone.

I was born here in the States but both of my parents are native Russian. The design of the doll was created by myself but was brought to life for me by someone else.

Essentially, I am the doll. The color of her hair and her eyes reflect mine. The design on her apron was inspired by a Christmas stocking that my Aunt gave me when I was a child. I love it and I keep it on display in my house all year round!

I like bright colors, which I also like to display with my food Russian or American. The logo was cute and unique, so what better way to put my company on display?

If you are interested in a Russian Doll of your own check out The Russian Store for a Russian doll of your very own! Also don't forget to check out The Russian Doll Bakery and Catering site for all of your Catering needs!

Naked Dark Chocolate Ganache Cake – made with Greek Yogurt

Get naked on Valentines Day with this dark hunk of love! This is one of my favorite cake recipes because its super chocolaty and very moist. It's perfect for birthday's or during the week. I've been holding onto it for many years, but this year I’m giving it away to my fans and followers to share the love!

http://www.russiandollbakeryandcatering.com/bakery/

Ingredients

2 eggs

12 ounce Greek plain or vanilla

1/2 cup vegetable oil

3 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup room temperature “strong” coffee (I use Instant Coffee)

1 cup dark unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cup flour

2 cup sugar

2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

Dash of salt

Toppings

Dark Chocolate Ganache
Blackberries

Fresh Strawberries

Buttercream

Salted Caramel

Directions

  1. In the bowl using an electric mixer with paddle attachment beat eggs on high then on low speed add  yogurt, oil, vanilla and coffee.
  2. In another bowl sift your ingredients of cocoa powder, flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt and mix until combined.
  3. Pour your dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix with paddle for 1 minute. Stop and scrap the sides of the bowl and paddle for 1-2 minutes, over mixing is ok depending if you want a thick rich cake. If you want a light cake mix until combined.
  4. Pour into a greased pan either using parchment paper at the bottom of your pan or dust with flour.
  5. Bake on 350 oven for 35-45 minutes depending on your oven.

If you have any questions about this recipe or instruction, please send a comment. In my other post, recipes are hard to follow and especially baking, but I find this to be easy to make and so delicious!
